In our latest changelog, we're happy to announce that Terramate CLI and Terramate Cloud are now both fully integrated with BitBucket pipelines, allowing teams to supercharge existing Terraform and OpenTofu projects in BitBucket with advanced orchestration, observability, drift detection and more. We also shipped support for API keys management.

Changelog: API Keys and BitBucket Support

Happy New Year, and all the best for 2025! We kept ourselves busy during the holidays and are pleased to announce our latest changelog containing two major product updates: API keys and full support for BitBucket Pipelines!

Full Support for BitBucket Pipelines

Do you use BitBucket Pipelines to automate your Terraform and OpenTofu deployments? Well, we have good news for you! Terramate CLI and Terramate Cloud are both now fully integrated with BitBucket pipelines, allowing you to add:

  • Better Pull Request Previews
  • Full observability for Pull Requests and Deployments
  • Scheduled Drift Detection and Reconciliation
  • Incident Management for failed deployments and newly detected drift via Alerts
  • Slack Notifications

to your existing Terraform and OpenTofu projects managed in BitBucket.

This means that Terramate is now the only solution that seamlessly integrates with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD and BitBucket Pipelines, enabling teams to reuse their existing CI/CD platforms and enrich those with missing capabilities to provide better collaboration experiences when managing Terraform and OpenTofu at a scale!

Create and Manage API Keys

Previously, Terramate Cloud was exclusively available for Terramate CLI as the only client, which is one reason we only offered OpenID Connect (OIDC) to authenticate from Terramate CLI to Terramate Cloud. Another reason was that running Terramate CLI in GitHub Actions or GitLab CI/CD didn’t require API keys because both seamlessly integrate with the OIDC provider in Terramate Cloud.

In preparation for our upcoming public API and to integrate Terramate with any CI/CD platform that doesn't seamlessly integrate with OIDC, we just shipped support for creating and managing API keys in your Terramate Cloud organization.

Minor Changes

  • We released Terramate CLI v0.11.6 which contains a fix when working with output sharing in parallel executed workflows

If you want to use Terramate to supercharge your Terraform and OpenTofu automation using BitBucket Pipelines, please book a demo - we’d love to help!

As always, we appreciate your feedback and support.
