Archiving Stacks, Alerts 2.0, US Launch and Better Notifications Cover

Hello team,

We're excited to share our latest round of improvements designed to make your experience even better. Read on to discover what our team has been working on!

Archiving Stacks

Sometimes, you remove all infrastructure managed in a specific stack, leaving you with an empty stack. Empty stacks don’t provide much value and can easily clog your Terramate Cloud dashboard. That’s why we just shipped a feature that allows you to archive stacks.

Currently, stacks can be archived on the detail page of each stack. Archived stacks are no longer shown in your dashboards but can optionally be recovered, for example, in cases where you end up using the stack again by adding new resources to a stack.

In the future, we will add more features that help archiving stacks at a scale, such as batch archiving or auto-archiving for stacks that match specific criteria.

Alerts 2.0

Previously, we received a lot of feedback from our users that the alerts dashboard wasn’t actionable enough. For example, to manually assign or resolve a specific alert, one had to navigate to the details page of an alert to take further action.

Because of that, we just released Alerts 2.0, our new dashboard that allows you to manage all your alerts in a single place!

You can now review, assign and resolve alerts in a single page, rapidly enhancing the user experience when dealing with incidents such as drift or failed deployments. We also added new filters that help you to scope alerts further.

US Region Launch

We just launched the US region for Terramate Cloud.

When you create an account with Terramate Cloud, you select your location, which determines where we store your data: in the United States (US) or European Union (EU).

This is helpful for organizations regulated in Europe or the United States, allowing them to choose their data residency to comply with regulatory requirements.

Here’s an overview of the locations available when creating an account in Terramate Cloud:

For more details, such as configuring Terramate CLI to use the EU or US location, please see the documentation at Locations and Data Residency.

Improved Notifications

Notifications about failed deployments and drift now contain more detail, allowing your team to understand the incident just by looking at Slack. In addition, we are now also sending notifications for successful deployments to keep your team in the loop whenever a deployment finishes successfully.

Minor Changes

  • We released Terramate CLI 0.12.0, enabling support for newer Terragrunt versions, data residency locations, and minor bug fixes.

As always, we appreciate your feedback and support.
